The new Companies House Identity Verification Rules - How we can help as an ACSP

Why Is This Happening?

Identity verification is a new legal requirement designed to make the UK a safer place to do business. By
confirming the identity of directors and others involved with a company, this new law will:

  • Reduce the risk of fraud and criminal activity.
  • Improve transparency and trust in the UK’s business landscape.
  • Ensure the information on the Companies House register is accurate and reliable.
Who Needs to Verify Their Identity?

This new requirement applies to almost everyone who runs or manages a UK company. You will need to verify
your identity if you are:

  • A Director of a limited company.
  • A Person with Significant Control (PSC).
  • A Member of a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP).
  • A General Partner of a Limited Partnership (LP).
  • Anyone who files information for a company.

In most cases, you only need to verify your identity once.

Mrs Dhariwal can assist you through her solicitors firm, Lex Solicitors & Notary Ltd which is an Authorised
Corporate Service Provider (ACSP). As a registered (ACSP), her firm can manage the entire identity
verification process for you.

From 18th November 2025, these rules will be strictly enforced.

Once verified, you will receive a unique Companies House Personal Code. You will need this code to:

  • File your company’s confirmation statement.
  • Be appointed as a new director.
  • Register as a PSC.

Don’t get caught out by the new rules. Lex Solicitors & Notary Ltd is a Companies House authorised agent,
ready to help you navigate this change with ease.
